KC Introduction to certification
KC (Korea certification) certification, formerly known as EK certification, is the safety certification system of electronic and electrical appliances in South Korea, namely KC mark certification. It is a compulsory safety certification system implemented by Kats on January 1, 2009 according to the electrical applications safety control act.
In order to avoid duplicate certification, since July 1, 2012, EMC and safety are separately managed. For electronic and electrical products applying for South Korea certification, KC certificate and KCC Certificate (New MSIP) must be obtained respectively for safety and EMC requirements. There are two KC certification bodies: KTC (Korea testing certification) and KTL (Korea Electrical Testing Institute). This is not only the qualification of the two laboratories, but also the certification of KC.
In terms of safety standards, all products entering the Korean market must comply with the K standard of Korean safety standard (similar to IEC standard). The use of IEC standards must meet the requirements of South Korea. National differences can be found in the announcement in the CB system of IECEE. In terms of EMC, Korean EMI standards are similar to CISPR standards and EMS standards are similar to EN standards.
According to the requirements of the latest "safety management law of electrical appliances", KC certification is divided into mandatory safety certification, self regulatory safety certification and supplier self confirmation according to the different hazard levels of products. Among them, the products controlled by compulsory safety certification are more dangerous, while those controlled by suppliers' self confirmation are lower.
KC The scope of certified products generally includes electrical products with AC50 V and below 1000 V:
1. Wires, cables and cord set
2. Switches for electrical appliances
3. Power filters and capacitors
4. Installation accessories and connection devices
5. Installation protective equipment
6. Safety transformer and similar equipment
7. Household and similar equipment appliances
8. Motor tools
9. Audio, video and analog electronic appliances
10. It and office appliances
11. Lighting machines
12. Appliance with power supply or charger
KC The name plate must include the following contents:
① KC mark (including Certificate No. suxxxxxx);
② Product name (must be expressed in Korean);
③ (4) voltage frequency;
⑤ Name of factory; 6. Country of manufacture;
⑦ Double insulation mark "return" (if necessary);
⑧ Date of production;
⑨ A / s after sales service call (must be in Korea)
Technical information: voltage frequency 110V / 220V / 380V, 60Hz or 50Hz / 60Hz, plug ksc8305
Compulsory or not: mandatory
Validity of certificate:
1. Mandatory safety certification - none, annual audit to maintain validity (the following template)
2. Self discipline safety confirmation: 5 years
3. Supplier's self confirmation: without certificate, the confirmation will be valid forever
Factory inspection requirements: compulsory safety certification requires first factory inspection and annual audit
Certificate holder requirements: the mandatory safety certification must be factory certificate, and the other two types of certification can be licensed by factory / manufacturer / importer.
